Netflix India has climbed its peak to a different level by receiving tremendous growth from Indian contents. The world of the Internet has become a significant hub for streaming networks as it continuously expands more in the market with higher demands from their viewers. Many global companies have invested in the streaming platform, which includes AMAZON PRIME, APPLE TV, and DISNEY+, adding to that local entities are also in the league like Hotstar, ZEE5, ALT BALAJI who are continuously giving fierce competition with some stable content-driven subjects to stream.
In such a huge competition, Netflix India invests ₹3000 crores from 2019 till year-end 2020, to drive more Indian contents to their channel. Reed Hastings, the founder of Netflix, reveals Sacred Games got more views outside India than from India, similar to this the animated series “Mightly Little Bheem” is successfully registered in 27 million households outside of India. This creates the impression that Indian personalities and Indian thoughts are currently dispersing.

A bite of the show.
The year begins with Ghost Stories in collaboration with four prominent directors of the B-TOWN industry Karan Johar, Dibakar Banerjee, Zoya Akhtar, and Anurag Kashyap. It’s a Horror flick, but my honest opinion about the film is I didn’t see anything which can describe it to be a Horror flick. IMDB reviews the movie with a rating of 4.5/10, so this indicates the start of the year with a disappointment.
Jamtara was aired on the Netflix India app and the web a few weeks back. The series is being received well from the viewers and has got a positive response. All character fits best in their respective roles. Amit Sial playing the role of Brijesh deserves to be noticed more frequently, like the talented Pankaj Tripathi, as I find the actor to have great skill in acting. IMDB responded to Jamtara with a 7.8/10, hence proving after a disappointment like Ghost Stories from Netflix, Jamtara brings the glory back for the giant.
Netflix reports this year they are in talks to bring in as many projects they can for the Indian crowd as India is considered to be a big market in the Entertainment sector. The quint reports new projects lined up with Karan Johar, Anurag Kashyap, Dibakar Banerjee, and Vikramaditya Motwane.
Karan Johar will be coming up with the title “The Other,” which would be a collection of four different stories combining in one. The plot seems to be new lets wait and to see what “The Others” have brought for us.
Anurag Kashyap is making “Choked,” which, as per sources are said to be believed a story about a bank cashier who one fine day finds unlimited cash in his kitchen. Anurag on one of his interviews reveals collaborating with Netflix is a big platform for him as he can bring in more his creative work to a great extent and spread it to a broader audience. Choked is one of his projects, which he hadn’t led his hands before; hence we hope Choked to be one of the projects we can all eagerly wait to watch.
Vikramaditya Motwane comes up with “AK v/s AK,” where a director kidnaps the daughter of a star. The star, in desperation, continuously starts hunting for his daughter. While he hunts, the director starts hunting for his next blockbuster film. The movie would have Anurag Kashyap and Anil Kapoor as lead, which would be quite interesting for the viewers to witness. AK v/s AK has a gripping story with some twist and tale very well intact, furthermore to this Netflix would be a prominent platform for it to be launched, added the makers of the film.
Dipakar Banerjee, contributes its extra showcasing excellence through “Freedom.” this year. The movie would feature talented Naseeruddin Shah, alongside Manisha Koirala, Huma Qureshi, Kalki Koechlin, Divya Dutta, Zoya Hussain, Shashank Arora, and Neeraj Kabi. Freedom is the story of us, everyday middle-class people. With relatives, parents, grandparents, children, loves, lies, and secrets suppressed and lost over generations. The director addresses Freedom to be about food, fantasy, sex, and betrayal. It is about what we conceal and what we wear on our sleeves, and around past and a future in which we predict India.
